If you see the Rouses Point Railway Station up close, you would notice, it's not in the best condition.
"It's in terrible shape, to the fact that, nothing has been done for it for years," Rouses Point Mayor George Rivers said.
With the $832,000 the village is getting from the federal stimulus package, Mayor Rivers says this Railway Station is going to look brand new.
"All the windows and doors replaced, brought back as close to its original design," Mayor Rivers said.
Part of the station is going to be turned into a waiting room. On top of that, the building is also being turned into a historic site.
"We are kind of leaning towards a Village Museum, the railroad has a very rich history in Rouses Point," Rouses Point-Champlain Historical Society President Geri Favreau said.
The city plans on getting started on the project right away, first repairing the roof.
"It's an architectural dream if you look at it, it's a beautiful building," Mayor Rivers said.
