About 2,000 people will be rallying outside the Capitol Tuesday in support of gay rights legislation.
The bills would allow same-sex marriage, protect transgender civil rights, and provide safe schools for gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual youth.
Attendees at the rally will include Kate Hathaway, mother of actor Anne Hathaway; Alan Lubin of New York State United Teachers; and members of the clergy, business community and labor organizations.
Governor Paterson and Assembly members Daniel O'Donnell and Richard Gottfried are expected to address the group Tuesday.
The advocates will spend the afternoon lobbying state lawmakers and attending workshops.
