PLYMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - Construction has started on a $16.4 million ice arena at Plymouth State University.
The arena is scheduled for completion by late summer 2010.
The Citizen reports the ice arena will seat 850 and serve as a teaching facility for instruction and research in ice activities, in addition to hosting the Panther varsity men's and women's ice hockey teams. It also will be open to skating in the community.
The ice arena is the first of a five-phase plan to construct PSU's new ALLWell Center complex. Future phases will house classrooms, research laboratories, lecture halls, offices, conference rooms, and areas for academic and athletic programs.
