DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - In a second round of layoffs this year, printing press manufacturer Goss International has cut its workforce by 170 people, with most of the cuts in New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Union Leader reports Goss spokesman Greg Norris says most of the layoffs are at the Durham plant, a few are in Dover and the rest are in Illinois and Texas.
Norris says the latest layoffs mean the U.S. workforce has been reduced by about a third this year, from about 1,250 to 800 people. He says the cuts are in response to economic conditions and the U.S. jobs are not being shifted to Goss facilities overseas.
At the start of the year, Goss employed about 1,000 people in New Hampshire.
