NEWINGTON, N.H. (AP) - A diamond ring dropped during a police chase in Newington, N.H., has been found by a witness using a metal detector.
Police say 44-year-old Yves St. Brice of Worcester, Mass., snatched the ring from a Zale's jewelry store on Monday, then led a police officer on a chase that included dodging cars on the Spaulding Turnpike. St. Brice was arrested a mile away, but the ring was missing.
The Portsmouth Herald reports that a man who witnessed the chase went out with a metal detector two days later and found the ring.
St. Brice was charged with felony theft and is being held on $15,000 bail.
