A Message of Hope to Grand Isle, Louisiana

Posted: Updated:

A message of hope from Grand Isle Vermont, to Grand Isle Louisiana, a town hit hard by the Gulf oil spill.

The owners of Blue Paddle Bistro in South Hero built a giant wooden board that anyone can come and write a message on.

The Blue Paddle raised money for Grand Isle, Louisiana when it was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, but this time they were told not to send money, because it could effect how much they get in damage claims from BP.

"Let them know that people far away care about them. Despite the shrimp industry being in peril and their beaches being closed, that we just care," Blue Paddle Bistro owner Phoebe Bright said.

The giant post card is going to be folded up and sent to Grand Isle, Louisiana as soon as the board is completely filled up with peoples messages.
