The economy in crisis has more people cutting back and looking for ways to save money.
"I am use to coming here, having a cup of tea and then talking about work things," Marianne Dinascio said.
Dinascio is not going to Uncommon Grounds everyday for a cup of tea anymore.
"I keep a big box of tea bags in my desk with a thing of honey and I make my tea at work," Dinascio said.
Her friend, Amy Stuart is also trying to save some green by not buying a cup of Joe every day.
"Normally a latte, they are good and under three dollars," Amy Stuart.
The average cup of coffee at Uncommon Grounds costs about $1.60. If you had one cup everyday for a week it would add up to eight dollars.
"That can go elsewhere into my gas tank for example. It's unfortunate because I think this is a place where I can socialize, where we come for informal business meetings," Dinascio said.
Uncommon Grounds manager says despite some customers cutting back, business is still good. Many customers don't want to let go of their daily cup of coffee or tea.
"I think it's an affordable luxury, it's something that people always want. Enjoy coming in and taking a break," Uncommon Grounds Manager Liza Carpenter said.
Carpenter did say more people are buying the cheaper cups of coffee rather than the more expensive ones.
