Updated:

The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office is warning people about an e-mail scam. The scam promises an economic stimulus check from the Internal Revenue Service.

State Attorney General Kelly Ayotte said the message asks for recipients to submit personal information to get the check. Ayotte said the Internal Revenue Service does not conduct business over the Internet.

She urged consumers to call the agency or company sending the message to confirm whether the e-mail is legitimate.
