Woodbury College has owned the campus in Montpelier for twenty years. After this week it will belong to the Community College of Vermont.
"We jumped on it and Woodbury thought it was a great use for their facility as did the city of Montpelier," CCV President Tim Donovan said.
CCV president, Tim Donovan says times are tough for everyone, and with this new addition to the college they are going to be able to continue keeping their tuition the lowest in the state.
"Were working constantly in trying to keep CCV by far the least expensive higher education alternative in the State of Vermont not only in this economy but in general," Donovan said.
Right now it costs less than five thousand dollars a year for a student to attend CCV full time.
The new Campus Building will also allow the College to move their facility and staff currently in Waterbury to Montpelier.
"Once were done with this entire thing, were going to combine both of those at the one facility at Woodbury," Donovan said.
Once completed the new Campus Building will be housing new classrooms, a science facility, art studio and even a learning center.
Right now CCV enrolls more than six thousand students at 12 Campus's across the Green Mountain State.
"Were one of the Colleges because we're not campus bound we can move pretty quickly on things when the right opportunity arise," Donovan said.
CCV's new Campus Building will be ready for students next fall.
