Edlund, a Burlington-based company that develops and manufactures foodservice equipment, is laying- off seven full-time employees.

Brian Cavanagh, Vice President of Operations at Edlund Co., says the layoffs are due to the "economic slowdown."  Cavanagh says the company made the adjustments to fit the current level of business. 

The layoffs were announced on January 19 and will take effect at the end of January.

Those affected will receive severance pay and other assistance including transitional training services through the Vermont Department of Labor Rapid Response Team.  Further cuts are not anticipated at this time.
