Andrew Parker Gets A Hero's Welcome

With cheers of support and things as simple a thumbs up, 21-year-old Army Private First Class Andrew Parker was given a hero's welcome.

"I am a little moved, little moved, I am just glad to see people coming out to show their support," Kevin Bray said.

With the help of the Morrisville Military Band, Parker made his way from Stowe to Hyde Park. Parker was injured by a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan and couldn't return to his home until it was handicap accessible.

'The community came together like you never seen, it's the wonderful thing about living here in Vermont," Steve Lambert said.

Over the course of several months, family, friends and those who never met parker raised one hundred thousand dollars to make repairs. On Saturday all that community support paid off.
