Hundreds of women are expected to turn out Thursday for the 8th annual Burlington Clothes Exchange.  Stores from around the city donated everything from clothes to shoes to be sold at affordable prices, all to raise money for Vermont Works for Women.

The group helps young girls and women think about non-traditional careers, and learn the tools needed to support themselves in the community.

"This year our steering committee was really focusing on electing an organization that focuses on women's self sufficiency and that's what Vermont Works for Women is all about," Founder of Burlington Clothes Exchange Leslie Halperin said.

Stella is the newest business that's partnered with the exchange.  It's donated more than 150 pairs of shoes, and are expected to be a hot item among shoppers.

"What they've come to know is that we really do sell high-quality clothing at affordable prices all for a good cause and that's why they'll come and brave the line," Halperin said.

Last year, the exchange raised more than $32,000 for the Hicks Foundation.

The exchange takes place Thursday from 5pm - 8pm at Union Station in Burlington.
