People in Georgia, Vermont no longer need to travel out of town for special medical attention.

They can now go to the new Northwestern Walk-In Clinic, an extension of the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

The building includes x-ray and digital mammography units, and a physical therapy room.

Executive Director Christine Sweeny says their goal is to make these services convenient for people in the southern part of Franklin County.

"We are all committed to Franklin County and the extension of what we've done in St. Albans to this area of our community,"  Sweeny said.

The clinic is hosting an open house Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The grand opening is Monday, May 10.
