  • Green Mountain Chorus

    As part of Burlington's celebration of the Fourth of July and the kickoff of the Lake Champlain Quadricentennial celebration, the Green Mountain Chorus will be performing in concert.

    The Fourth of July Celebration and Fireman's barbecue is one of the most popular events of the summer! All day long enjoy the wonderful food cooked by the fire department and other volunteers. During the afternoon, enjoy fun filled games and entertainment. Bring a picnic blanket and be prepared to stay all day long.

    In celebration of Lake Champlain's Quadricentennial, the VSO presents a salute to Samuel de Champlain, who discovered our bordering-on-great lake in 1609. The VSO pays tribute to our Frenchman in America with Gershwin's "An American in Paris" and a program both Gallic and aquatic: an overture by Berlioz, selections from Les Misérables, Sousa's Hands Across the Sea March, Handel's Water Music, and show tunes from South Pacific. Fireworks accompany the 1812 Overture for a dramatic bon soir.

  • President Calvin Coolidge July 4th Birthday Parade

    Commemorate the birthday of the only president born on Independence Day. March from the village green to the cemetery where a wreath from the White House is laid at the president's gravesite. Fourth of July Parade is led by the Vermont National Guard. A July 4th chicken barbecue follows at the Wilder House Restaurant.

    Moscow's parade is billed as the world's shortest July 4th parade. Local radio stations provide marching music, and the parade goes up to the end of town, turns around, and marches back again! You can (barely) catch it starting at 10 a.m. on July 4.
