Pieces of debris continued to burn Wednesday night while firefighters tried to put out hot spots on a tractor trailer forced into the woods, more than 200 feet from Interstate 89 in Georgia, Vt. Underneath that truck were the remains of a car state police say slammed into the massive rig.
Vermont State Police say the car was heading south on I-89 when for whatever reason the driver crossed into the median, became airborne, and slammed head-on into the truck.
Police say amazingly, they say the driver of the truck somehow escaped injury.
"That driver was check on scene and he's fine at this time," Woch said.
VSP say no one else was in either vehicle.
