10.11.11 It's The October Full Moon!

Its the full moon today, October 11, 2011. This month, the moon is termed the Full Hunter's Moon, Blood Moon, or Sanguine Moon. According to the Farmers Almanac, many years ago, Native Americans named this bright moon to mark the time to begin storing up meat for the long winter ahead. Because the fields were traditionally reaped in late September or early October, hunters could easily see fox and other animals that come out to glean from the fallen grains. They would hunt the animals to stock up for the winter ahead. To watch a YouTube video on The Full Hunter's Moon, click here.

The full moon will be at its fullest point tonight, October 11, 2011 at ~10:07pm. The forecast will allow us to see the moonrise this evening at ~5:41pm. The moon will set Wednesday morning at ~6:33am behind the clouds.

Interesting full moon tidbit: Did you know?  Some believe, babies born a day after the full Moon enjoy success and endurance.
