Protesters Against Wind Energy Gather In Barre

Posted: Updated:

Barre, Vermont- Saturday protesters gathered in Barre for an impromptu protest against wind power in Vermont.  Dozens held signs and chanted "Enough, Enough".  All aimed at Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin to showcase their disapproval of the Lowell Wind Project.  Protesters say they are against wind turbines in the mountains saying the process is destroying Vermont's environment and in the end will produce only a small amount of power.

"We're out here because we feel that wind development, on ridge lines is a terrible thing to do.  It's terrible in Vermont. They are blowing up, literally blowing up mountains in Lowell. In order to put in this wind development that's going to produce very, very little power," said Protester Stephanie Kaplan.
