Bethel Death Ruled Homicide

Bethel, Vermont-  Saturday, Vermont State Police held a press conference to identify the victim's of Friday's suspicious incident.  Police found 48 year old Scott Hill of Bethel dead at his home on Dartt Hill Road.  Autopsy results show the death is a homicide.

Police also found 19 year old Emma Jozefiak, of South Royalton seriously injured.  Jozefiak had been reported missing by family members.  She is still in critical condition at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Police are calling the incident suspicious and all circumstances surrounding it are under investigation.  However, police do not believe Jozefiak is involved in the death of Hill.  Police do say the two were acquaintances and Emma often resided at Hill's home.

Captain Dave Covell, Chief Criminal Investigator of the Vermont State Police, said "We are working diligently to understand all aspects of this incident, however we are unable to release specific details as it may inhibit our ability to thoroughly investigate this case."

Police also say, there is no risk to the Bethel community or general public. Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to please call the Vermont State Police at 802-234-9933.
