House Fire in South Burlington

South Burlington, Vermont – Neighbors alert homeowner their home was on fire in South Burlington Wednesday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. on MacIntosh Avenue.

Fire officials say neighbors discovered the fire in the attic and alerted the fire department and the homeowner.

The owner got out safely.

Authorities say two firefighters were injured while battling the fire. One had a lifting injury and the other was hurt due to a partial ceiling collapse.

The cause is considered accidental. Fire officials say combustible materials interfered with a heating appliance vent.
