1.16.12 What I'm Working On...

Sorry for the lack on blogs lately folks! My extra moments at work have been very busy learning my new roll on the evening shift and preparing for a couple of very special talks at professional conferences that are coming up.

My first big project that my co-worker, meteorologist Steve Glazier, and I are working on together is a survey to send out to you, our viewers. The survey is aimed at asking you about weather,  the daily impact weather has on you, and how to make a forecast more effective to deliver accurate information to you. Our overall goal is to determine how to make the forecasts more clear and usable to you! We want to make the forecast easy to understand. You will be hearing more about this in the future if you continue to keep checking in with us.

The next big project that I am working on will be to present that information and data collected at a nationally recognized scientific conference. Steve and I have been asked to be presenters at the Northeastern Storm Conference in early March. This storm conference is a professional scientific conference aimed at undergrads who plan to enter the field of meteorology or atmospheric sciences, and also to a handful of current professionals working in the field. We are very honored to be asked to present on a topic of our choice to the group. The conference is put on by my and Steve's alma mater, Lyndon State College. We both attended the conference as undergrads, so as I said, it is an honor and exciting to be invited back as professionals to provide insights and the latest the science of meteorology has to offer.

Exciting times ahead, but lots of work to get done!
