Sleet and freezing rain created some dicey road conditions on Interstate 89 early, Friday morning.
Washington and Windsor counties were two of the trickiest spots for drivers. Many roads appeared wet on the surface but were actually coated in ice. Thankfully, it seems many drivers slowed down during the morning commute because VTrans only reported a couple minor accidents.
One driver said he noticed the change telling Fox 44, "I think everyone is being cautious. I've only seen one accident on my way up. It was a spin out, and usually when I drive 89 in inclement weather you see a lot more accidents."
VTrants crews will be out in full force Friday evening clearing roads and laying salt brine to keep Interstate 89 from freezing overnight.
