Tunbridge, Vermont - They are paid to help you in an emergency, but a Central Vermont ambulance squad is fighting some shocking accusations.
First Branch Ambulance and Rescue, an ambulance squad serving Tunbridge and Chelsea, are facing allegations of texting while driving, drinking, and watching pornography while on the job.
When we asked who made the complaints, First Branch Captain Linda Kuban said she did not want to tell us. She did say that the accusations were being discussed between the Select Boards of both towns before she heard anything about them.
"That it was the first we had heard about it and had not been contacted by anyone," Kuban said.
Kuban said she and others from First Branch were called to a public meeting in Tunbridge to discuss the issues back in January. What came out of it was just some policy changes.
"I discussed to the Chelsea Fire Chief and said, you know, in order for First Branch to continue to rent here, we had to be in agreement on some station rules," Kuban said.
There is currently no criminal investigation.
"At this point, the person who made the allegation of inappropriate use of the computers too adult sites has actually said he never actually saw it," Kuban said.
We made several attempts to reach out to the Tunbridge Select Board, but no one called us back.
Fox44 Reporter Louisa Moller also spoke to the fire chief of Tunbridge who said he would not comment.
