Update: Putney, Vermont - One-by-one state and local police officers filed into the Putney, Vermont fire department to say they arrested several people who terrorized business owners.

Over the past year about one-hundred similar type of burglaries took place in five states.

The majority of which were in Southern Vermont and New Hampshire.

"There were similar types of things stolen, similar times of the day," said Vermont State Police Lt. Rick Hopkins.

State police say the suspects would target small businesses that didn't have surveillance cameras up.

They say they would break into the middle of the night and look for items like money that can't be traced back to them.

After following patterns, a number of agencies worked together to try and end the ring.

But they say it wasn't until two people were caught breaking into the Summit Steakhouse in New Hampshire when everything changed.

That's when state police say they began to piece together who was involved and they focused on seven people.

They're still looking for 21-year-old Logan Critchfied.

State police say they couldn't have stopped the ring if it wasn't for everyone working together.

"By spreading the word out amongst our partners was critical, that was critical in our success," said Hopkins.

"There's always great teamwork but this was just an exemplary example of how teamwork came together," said New Hampshire State Police Sgt. Joe DiRusso.

Seven people face charges in connection to a massive burglary ring. Police say they're responsible to breaking into nearly one hundred businesses in five states.
