South Burlington, Vermont- In a time when the nation's economy continues to struggle, one place in Vermont is looking to slow its growth.
According to City Council Chair Sandra Dooley, in a 3-2 vote on Tuesday, the South Burlington City Council passed an interim zoning bylaw that will slow the city's growth, putting limitations on land development.
Fox44 spoke to Realtor Michael Simoneau on Monday who said extra review by council member is more red tape for developers.
"Where does the special wisdom come from that they are supposed to possess to make these judgements?," asks South Burlington realtor, Michael Simoneau.
Dooley supports the plan and thinks there are a lot of people who don't agree with the way the city has grown.
"They are ready for some stronger leadership from the council," Dooley said in an interview with Fox44 on Monday.
